The Cape Eleuthera Foundation has been recognized as a model for sustainable development.
Island School students learn to live on a green campus powered by renewable energy, a campus that recycles its waste. As citizens of Eleuthera, Deep Creek Middle School students learn how to live better in a place through experiences on- and off-island. Ongoing science research at the Cape Eleuthera Institute attracts expertise, generates knowledge and informs local decision makers about issues that affect surrounding communities and the wider world. The Center for Sustainable Development works to find new ways to reduce our environmental impact and improve efficiencies on our Eleuthera campus.
